Choosing the Right Social Media Platform for Your Small Business

Choosing the right social media marketing strategies can generate sales and grow your small business

I was recently interviewed by Jay Somerset for an article in Connected For Business, Rogers’ business and technology magazine for small business owners. The article focused on how social media can generate sales for small business owners, and if Facebook is always the right platform to use. As a small business marketing professional with hands-on experience using a variety of social networks, I was happy to give suggestions on when to use Facebook to help leverage your business growth.

Small Business Social Media Tips: Claim Your Name!

Secure your username on social media sites before someone else does!

Kaleigh Rogers from The Toronto Star interviewed me as part of a piece they put together about using Pinterest for small business. LinkedIn Showcase Pages: Using LinkedIn for Small Business Marketing ~ Get Your Questions Answered!

Get the answers! Should you create a LinkedIn Showcase Page?

LinkedIn Showcase Pages were announced in November 2013 as a way for businesses on LinkedIn to focus on their brands or products. LinkedIn users can now follow a single Showcase Page without having to follow your overall Company Page, which is great if you have specific services or products that are only relevant to a particular segment of your potential customer base.

For example, if you own a clothing store that offers men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, you can develop separate Showcase Pages that show relevant content for each category. Users without kids won’t have to see your back-to-school clothing sale, and men won’t have to see to your latest blog post about women’s summer dresses. You will be able to keep all the content you publish relevant for each of your different target audiences.
